The Nursery

 

Nursery Hours

 

Part-time     9.00am - 12.00pm / 12.30pm - 3.30pm

 

Fulltime    9.00am - 3.30pm.  (Parents may pay

                   for part of each day.)

 

Nursery children can also attend Breakfast Club 8.00am - 9.00am daily.

 

 

The Nursery is spacious and situated within the Infant building.  It has recently been refurbished and redecorated.  It has its own library, home corner, art and craft area, sand/water play area, a block playing area, writing corner and computers.

 

There is also a large well equipped nursery playground with apparatus, a sand pit, play 'shops' and a large selection of wheeled toys, which are popular with the children and a vital extension of their learning environment.   An extensive covered area anables the children to be outside all year round.

 

The separate secure conservation area includes a pond surrounded by a variety of plants all which attract wildlife from the adjacent church yead.  All the children in the school use this wildlife garden for nature studies.

 

 

The Infant School

 

Breakfast Club  -  (Nursery - Year 2)  8.00am - 9.00am

 

After School Club  - (Reception - Year 2)  3.30pm - 5.45pm

 

The Infant School is a modern single storey building built in 1971.  There are six spacious classrooms all with direct access to the playground.  Each classroom has its own toilet facilities.  A large multipurpose hall is used for assembly, physical education, music and at lunchtime.

 

There is a large school library from which the children are encouraged to take books home weekly.  There is also a resources room, two meeting rooms and a parents' room with facilities for our parent helpers.

 

 

The playground is well equipped with climbing frame, quite seating areas, large musical instruments, a footall area, plants and shrubs.

 

The Reception Unit has its own smaller playground with a trim trail, large sandpit and other apparatus.  We are continually looking for ways in which we can enhance our recreational facilities.
